I had a pretty important exhibition last week. My show “you, me, and everything in-between” composed of forty-eight pieces of my work opened at ArtSpace. On Thursday, I met with the San Diego art critic Lauren Buscemi for a formal critique of the work. I was a little nervous as to what to expect since I hadn’t had a formal critique since graduate school (and we all know how painful those can be). I very much enjoyed the one-on-one time with Lauren (I’m happy to say that she enjoyed the work very much) and I look forward to her published critique. Once published, I’ll make sure it makes its way to the blog.

The exhibition and critique took place on my 30th birthday. All-in-all, it wasn’t a bad way to end my 20’s.

I’ve been making work like crazy, and this is your chance to see it before its shipped to New Orleans. Around 40 new pieces, all no older than January of this year. This work has never been exhibited in Louisiana. Half of this work has never been exhibited anywhere! Be sure to come to the opening reception. If you haven’t received the info about the event through Facebook or email, please let me know and I will get you on the list.

Once the show has opened, I’ll be adding all the new work to the website.
