New Orleans, Louisiana
Opening Reception – October 26
year to date – 83 new pieces
On Sunday I left the house at 6:00 am to deliver 13 new paintings to Graphite Gallery in New Orleans, LA. Main lesson learned: don’t deliver on game day. I was lucky enough to find a parking space right next to the gallery and unload quickly. “Lucky” only cost $40 and a pleasant conversation with a meter-maid. Right after we got the work inside and unwrapped, a nice family visiting from Houston came in off the street and purchased two of the larger works. They hung around for awhile to talk about art, my process, and even took a picture with me before they left. The folks at the gallery, Taylor and Rachel, took me around the corner and introduced me to lunch at Flanagan’s Pub. After my sandwich, I hit the road and made it back to Bossier City by 8:30pm. I can’t wait to get back down there for the reception on the 26th. If you’re in New Orleans, you should drop by. The artist I’ll be showing with is Lidia Altagracia
The show at the Shaw Center opened last week. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to attend the reception. If you make it there, send me some photos of the event. Here’s a great writeup of it on the LSU Art and Design webpage.
The other artists in the show are:
- Jamie Baldridge, Lafayette, Louisiana
- Mark Cervenka, Houston, Texas
- Amy Guidry, Lafayette, Louisiana
- Todd Hines, Baton Rouge, Louisiana
- Debbie Kupinsky, Appleton, Wisconsin
- Karey Rawitscher, Czech Republic
